Meet Jon G.

Just back from an 11-month self-funded trip around the world, 25-year-old New Orleans native grabs life by the b---s and wants to share his Zest for life with you. This summer, he’s on a cross-
country tour, facing the most adventurous challenges in America.

Bungee jumping? Cliff diving?  “Child’s play!” says the Zest for Adventure Man. (Although he’ll do those things whenever he can…)

From wrestling rattlesnakes and swimming with sharks to sand surfing, nothing is out-of-bounds for Jon G, as he travels across America looking for new forms of excitement.

Follow his trek and cheer Jon G. on his journey as the Zest Adventure Man, and watch video highlights of his adventures (and mis-adventures!) on his never-ending quest for the next big thrill.

  In his own words

For me, adventure is life. Over the past year I wandered around the globe getting into whatever I could. It took me swimming with whale sharks and manta rays, partying with UN soldiers in a war zone, jumping from cliffs, cruising class five rapids, squaring off with a terrorist chimp, dancing in drum circles, piloting flights over Africa, soaring above Victoria Falls, climbing an ice-capped mountain to 20,000 feet, shooting shotguns with a Black Panther Party leader in exile, dodging bullets at a Ugandan political rally, staring a wild lion in the eye, and spending countless hours on overcrowded buses. I’ve visited 29 countries and five continents.

I grew up fishing the bayous of Louisiana, drinking and dancing in the streets for Mardi Gras and leaping from the tops of shrimp nets for cheap thrills. Born and raised in New Orleans, I learned that life is packed with fascinating people and no place is the same. Earning a B.A. of International Relations in Washington, D.C. educated me on the formal world: politics, business, and last call. I even joined the corporate world for a couple of years but just couldn’t get used to the fluorescent lights and cube farm life. I needed to get out and suck the marrow of life again—I needed adventure. Spent a year wandering around-the-world and here I end up, your Zest Adventure Man. I invite you to check back often for my latest adventures right here at home in the US of A.
