My
life is ANYTHING but routine. My career is spent in
spikes, as I am training for a decathlon. My office
is found 15 feet above the ground while pole
vaulting, 6 feet off the ground while high jumping, and
at full tilt while skimming hurdles!
I have canoed the
Amazon. I have traveled to the Ukraine, Peru, El Salvador,
Guatemala and Costa Rica on self funded adventures.
In
each of those places I have done public speaking and
public service! For me, life is about putting it on the
edge daily. Complacency and comfort zones have no place
in my daily
itinerary. 6 a.m.: To the track to train
(I'm a decathalete)
10 a.m.: Ride my bike to the coffee
shop and read (I'm a
theologian and writer) 12 p.m.:
Often spend my lunch with the
local homeless (The less
fortunate are EVERYONE'S responsibility) 1 p.m.: Go
for a quick kayak to relax in the
river (I can't get
enough of the water) 3 p.m.: Back to the track
for my
second round of training 7 p.m.: Try something new
(I
love experimenting with new foods) 9 p.m.: The Adventurous
need their rest!
